Worship

Worship is the centerpiece of our life at Colbert,
and it takes the efforts of many to create a
rich, meaningful worship experience each week.
Evening Prayer and Meditation Service - The second Sunday evening of each month, beginning at 7:00 pm, a group gathers in a quiet place to share concerns and joys and then prays together for oneself, for another, for our church, for our world. It is very informal and all are welcome.

Position: Lay Reader - Read the Old Testament scripture and responsive Call to Worship for one service a Sunday. Time Commitment: 1 hour once every 2 or 3 months Contact person: Jonelle Bellis 466-0971

Position: Ushers - Hand out bulletins. Assist with seating. Time Commitment: 1 hour, once a month

Provide live flowers or plants on the communion table for Sunday worship services. Sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board in the Narthex.
Time Commitment: your choice

Position: Worship Team - sing or play an instrument with other musicians leading the congregation in music twice a month. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings 6:30 - 7:30 every other week.

Position: Sound System - Set up, take down and operate sound system during both worship services on a Sunday. Usually scheduled once a month.
Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per month

Position: Occasional Musician -Instrumentalists and vocalists are needed to provide music for various occasions. Brass, String and Wind players are especially desired for services several times a year.

Prayer Chain: Ongoing prayers are offered by a prayer chain and Wednesday afternoon prayer group for any needs you may have. Communicate your prayer requests by:

* Calling the church office (468-9923) or e-mailing us at peggy@colbertpres.org
* Contacting Kay Seidel (276-6908) or emailing kseidel@whitworth.edu. Kay is also the contact person if you would like to join the prayer chain or prayer group.

* Filling out a prayer card Sunday mornings, located in the seat pockets. Hand it to an usher or the pastor, or drop it in the offering plate.

The outdoor Prayer Garden is always available as a quiet place to pray and meditate. You are welcome to participate in any or all of these opportunities!
